If you have the previous history of congenital dislocation of hip joints or acetabular dysplasia (shallow hip socket), your hip joint may look like this. On x-ray, the round bone is femoral head and the bone above the femoral head is called acetabulum. This is the film of the patient who does not have enough coverage of bone (=acetabulum) over the femoral head.
